The cabin was cleaned twice daily with chocolates on the pillows on nights one and two only. There was a substantial amount of rust on the balcony and visible on many of the balcony supports above us and visible from windows in the Oceanview cafe. And for some reason, there were no bar waiters at all in the Solarium...we never saw one. So we had to go to a bar near the pool to get a soda or sparkling water as did others who wanted something a bit stronger. Now that we are both retired, my wife and I have resumed cruising and as part of that we decided to try a few more of the main-stream lines we had not sailed before. We prefer small to medium size ships (about 100,000 GT or less with under 2,000 passengers) and have no interest in megaships. Summit was right on the upper limit of our preferred ship size and passenger capacity.

I contacted Celebrity and they told us it was probably an oversight, but still left me with a negative impression. I asked how I can prevent being charged erroneously in the future, and the Celebrity rep suggested having my room steward come take an inventory of our fridge before we leave the room. During school holidays, the line's ships usually see a number of families with children, and the same may occur on Celebrity Edge (although the ship was not designed with families in mind). Overall, Celebrity Summit makes for a relaxing yet fun cruise experience, where food and cocktails take center stage, and Instagram-worthy moments abound. We booked a balcony guarantee and immediately were assigned a "sweet sixteen" balcony on deck 6. The room was well-located although from about 9pm until 11pm we occasionally experienced "bass" thumping from music either from the late theater show or music on the pool deck. We have not been on Equinox but have been on Solstice (twice), Silhouette, and Eclipse. We had one poor experience - on Solstice in September this year. The Silhouette cruise (a TA in April this year) was fantastic - like definitely one of the best ever. On Silhouette, we spoke to the senior officers many times and the F&B Manager spent a lot of time with passengers in all of the dining facilities - they weren't cursory conversations, he listened intently.

Restaurants on Celebrity Edge are straight out of any big city, from a grab-and-go gourmet deli and a reservations-only sushi spot to a high-tech French bistro with an animated dining experience you have to see to believe.
Cool sophistication is the unmistakable vibe onboard Celebrity Reflection, the biggest of the five ships in the line's mega-popular Solstice Class. I must say, we definitely noticed decline on Celebrity in terms of the dining options and level of service. It will be an interesting comparison between the service levels and food on the 2 ships. About equal to Royal Caribbean, superior to NCL and Carnival and far superior to MSC. However, we didn't find the food, service and condition of the ship as good as HAL. Our next sailing is on Seabourn and we'll be trying Viking Ocean, Silversea and RSSC as well.

At the lowest deck, it serves as a gateway to ports, making embarkation and debarkation easy. On other decks, it's a restaurant or bar space with unparalleled views.
For the second of its Edge-class ships, the cruise line partnered with some big-name designers -- including Kelly Hoppen and Jouin Manku -- to bring an airy, modern feel to every space onboard, inside and out. And while the 2,910-passenger ship is fancy, it's not stuffy – there's a relaxed vibe throughout. Seems like the Equinox not popular at the moment, another thread relating poor experiences. Seating problems in the OVC I would think are common on most ships at peak time and an irritation that you just have to live with.

As far as the OVC we think it’s the best buffet of all the major cruisel lines, food and variety has always been very good. We have done 4 cruises post Covid , first on one of the first sailing after Covid was fantastic but we were in penthouse. Then did two royal suites on summit and a sky suite on beyond, food in suite restaurant definitely not as good as before also same for specialty restaurants.
