Longwood University's program leading to a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic and Animation Design focuses on real-world assignments to give students useable job skills. It is possible to go down the self-education route, but we don’t recommend it. A bachelor’s degree will reassure employers you know your stuff, increase your starting pay and make you eligible for more jobs. There is also a two-year Master of Design (MDes) in Graphic Design program available. This is a globally oriented program delivered in Chicago and in Basel, Switzerland. Chicago-based students participate in the Basel School of Design summer workshops. Students are required to complete an independent master's research project and to stage a public exhibition of the same project. For the last two years of the contest, Rocco Morales won first prize — last year with his Ram Stadion concept, and in 2022 with his Chrysler Helios concept — and that was after coming second in 2021 with his Jeep Crazy Horse concept.
